Udupi, Apr 30: The state government had ordered a lockdown from March 24 to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Kota town police station sub-inspector Nithyananda Gowda was on the rounds to implement the lockdown restrictions on April 29.
The sub-inspector who got to know that Darshan Naik (34), residents of Vaddarse village and Prasthik (28) resident of Trasi village are selling liquor in tetra packs for extra profit near Vaddarse village GP bus stand from car number KA18 P 5233, raided the place.
Police sub-inspector Nithyananda Gowda arrested the suspects and confiscated 25 tetra packs worth Rs 2,250 of Malt whisky 90 ml written on them, Rs 625 cash, a white plastic bag and Rs four lac worth car used for selling the liquor.
A police case under registration number 63/2020 under sections 15(A), 32(3) KE Act is registered against the suspects.
