Mumbai, Apr 30: Former CM, Devendra Fadnavis on Wednesday said BJP is not interested in making backdoor entries into the Maharashtra politics, a day after a government delegation headed by deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar met governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari, advising him to nominate CM Uddhav Thackeray to the Legislative Council.
Fadnavis went on to say that they believe that the governor shall take an appropriate decision by following legal and constitutional framework and accordingly nominate Thackeray to the Council. He also emphasized that the BJP would be happy to see the CM being nominated for the council and continuing as the CM. The party has no intention of making a backdoor entry or engineering instability in the state.
Sanjay Raut, Shiv Sena leader had accused the BJP of misusing the Raj Bhawan in order to serve its political interests. However, a source at Raj Bhawan said that the governor is consulting constitutional and legal experts and that the process is on.
