Mumbai, Apr 17: Industries located in certain parts of the state have acquired permission to resume work from Tuesday. These industries are either located in districts with no cases of COVID-19 at all or those districts where the cases are only concentrated in specific zones.
On Thursday, Subhash Desai, announced that a proposal was being worked in order to permit industries in certain districts to resume work and that it shall be sent to the chief minister for approval. The proposal is a fallout of the guidelines issued by the Central government on extending a little relaxation to industries after April 20.
For instance, industries in districts such as Satara, Buldhana and Latur are planning to resume work next week. In the rural parts of Latur, there are no cases of COVID-19. Desai further added, “Many farmers have incurred huge losses due to the lockdown. The focus is to give priority to agriculture processing units.”
Those industries that can arrange transportation and accommodation for a large number of their workers shall be given preference to begin first.
