Bantwal: Two arrested for threatening coronavirus activist-cum-Asha worker

Bantwal, Apr 3: Police arrested two people, who had come to their native place from gulf for vacation, for threatening an Asha worker with dire consequences.

On April 1, Tulasi (48), a resident of Amtadi village, who works as an Asha worker had inquired the health of Nitesh, a resident of Kinnibettu and Jayantha, a resident of Kalayi on mobile as they have come from gulf on vacation.

Around 6 pm on the same day, when Tulasi was on duty, Marappa Poojari and Umesha, residents of Amtadi village and relatives of Nitesh called her on her mobile and hurled abuses. In addition, they also threatened her with life if she calls Nitesh further with regards to his health.

A case in this regard is registered in the Bantwal town police station on April 2 and the police have arrested both the accused.
