Bengaluru, Mar 26: In a tragic incident which happened near Agrahara in K P Nagar here on Wednesday, March 25, a person who had climbed a neem tree to pluck a few neem twigs fell to his death.

The victim of the incident was Kuber (35), resident of K P Nagar Agrahara.

For the Hindus, the new year begins on Ugadi festival day, which fell on Wednesday this year. On Ugadi, it is customary for the people to prepare a mixture of jaggery and neem leaves and exchange them with others to signify balanced acceptance of good and bad things in life. Kuber needed some neem twigs to offer to family elders but because of all India lockdown, markets were closed and he could not get neem leaves.

As such, Kuber climbed up a neem tree to collect some neem twigs. He slipped and fell. He suffered serious injuries. Even though he was taken to a hospital, he breathed his last on the way.
