Coronavirus: 65-year-old Maha man dies, India's death toll spikes to 10

Mumbai, Mar 24: A 65-year-old man who landed from UAE via Ahemdabad passed away in Maharashtra on late Monday night after being infected by the coronavirus.

With this, the death toll across India rose to 10.

Meanwhile, the positive cases in Maharashtra increased to 101, making it the worst-hit corona infected state in India.

As per a statement by Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM), the deceased was admitted to Kasturba Hospital in a critical condition on Monday with fever, cough and breathlessness. The patient had pre-existing health conditions, such as high blood pressure coupled with uncontrollable diabetes.

He flew down from UAE to Ahemdabad on March 15 and then reached Mumbai on March 20.

    Sad, may his soul rest in peace. The Government should have kept him in isolation when he landed on Indian soil. He might have come across so many people in Gujrat and Maharashtra. Very big blunder by the Government. Even the first case in India were the students from Kerala who flew from China. Infact there is no one transmitting the virus in India it is only passenger's from overseas effected by the corona virus.
