Udupi, Mar 17: As part of the Brahmakalashotsava of Kannarpady Sri Jayadurga Parameshwari temple, a new flagpole was installed and chappara muhurtham was held on Sunday, March 15.
The Brahmakalashotsava is to be held from March 26 to April 8.
All religious rituals were performed according to the guidance of Vedamuthy Shreesha Thanthri and Vastu specialist Subrahmanya Bhat Gundibailu.
Chappara muhurtha was performed by lighting the lamp and other religious customs. Hundreds of devotees have offered coins to new flagpole before its installation and it was installed in front of temple with the help of villagers.
During this time, as a sign of goodness, an eagle took around the temple, which mesmerized the devotees.
Renovation works of Sri Jayadurga Parameshwari is going on in full swing. It is being done at a cost of Rs 15 crore. The renovation committee is expecting lac of people to gather during the 14 days of programme.
“Artistes of stone works and wooden designers are speeding up their work,” said K Krishnamurthy Acharya, temple management committee President.
