Manipal, Mar 11: A herbomineral product for cancer and a line of treatment for cancer designed and developed by Dr M Vijayabhanu Shetty, chairman of Muniyal Ayurveda, Manipal, got two separate patents from director of the United States patent and trademark office.
A unique accomplishment in the history of Ayurveda, these patents are for a period of twenty years.
More than six hundred patients suffering from different types of cancer at different stages have been treated in Muniyal Ayurveda Hospital & research institute in Manipal and Muniyal Ayurveda family clinics.
Multiple patients have become completely asymptomatic (no symptoms). During Toxicity Study MUNEKS is found to be nontoxic even in high dosage. Structured data shows MUNEKS is found to be effective in eight cancer cell lines and its efficacy against lung cancer cell line at genetic level is scientifically established.
Under the PCT (Patent Co-operation Treaty) act signed by the government of India which covers 150 countries, MUNEKS is having patent pending tag from several other potential countries.
This is done mainly to make this drug’s accessibility easier in most part of the world through multinational pharmaceutical companies, says Dr M Vijayabhanu Shetty.
The line of treatment for cancer namely Mahoushadha Kalpa is inspired by the teachings of Bhagawan Buddha. This includes, following proper food regimen, seasonal regimen, purification of mind through Samatha, Maithri & Vipasana, studying the essence of Buddha’s teachings of Tripitaka namely 'Dhammapada' to overcome from the four diseases afflicting the mind namely craving, haterd, ignorance and wrong views and considering the disease as a messenger of the universal law and treating the disease not as an enemy but as a guest, both by patient and doctor, and awakening the cellular intelligence through Muneks, Hiranya Praash, a scientifically proved immune booster and Mahoshadha granules, a body detoxifier, as the cause of cancer is disturbed intelligence in the cellular level, says Dr M Vijayabhanu Shetty who was conferred with Special recognition award 2019 of International Congress of Ethnopharmacology.
