Kaup: Scooter rider killed on spot in accident near Pangala

Kaup, Mar 10: After an Ertiga car jumped over the road divider and rammed into a scooter, the rider concerned lost his life on the spot. This accident happened at Pangala near here on national highway 66 on Tuesday, March 10 morning.

The deceased has been identified as Sudhakar (50).

The car that was moving towards Udupi from the direction of Kaup suddenly jumped over the road divider, reached the lane where traffic on the opposite direction was on, and hit the scooter that was moving on that side of the road.

Kaup police sub-inspector Rajashekhar B Saganur, visited the spot, and took steps to register the case besides clearing the road for traffic.

    The Karnataka government, must release data, of citizens killed and wounded every day on our roads and lanes in our state... These four wheelers, cars, tourists vehicles, are habitually over speeding on our highways and sideways, killing hundreds and injuring thousands !!!!!

    Two wheeler rider with helmet or without are risking their lives when there are arrogant drivers on a 4 wheeler busy with their mobiles and driving. The police should be very strict when they see a driver on their mobiles, parking cars etc in unauthorized places eg., footpath, in front of gatesgates and etc.

    Check the car driver's mobile phone which will explain why this vehicle jumped the devider and landed on the on coming lane. We have plenty of educated illiterates driving vehicles at high speed on highways and by lanes with their mobiles on hand ending up in murders of innocent people. Similarly 2 wheeler riders are no exception and end result is loss of lives. This situation will not change unless our law enforcing agencies wake up from their slumber and cancel drivers license of people who use mobile phone while driving...any takers....????

    it wasn't mobile phone usage, he was driving at high speed tried to cut his way through lane changing process finally lost control and crash landed towards parallel road. the trick is to slow down while changing lanes and also type of car matters. in this case it was ertiga slightly has some history of road grip issues.
