Udupi, Mar 8: The report from Viral Detection Laboratory (VDL) of Bengaluru Medical college and research centre has clarified that no Coronavius traces are found in the throat culture of the 75-year-old man, a resident of Muniyalu in Karkala taluk, who was admitted to the district hospital of Udupi for suspected Coronavirus infection.
District administration received the report on the evening of Saturday, March 7 and it is confirmed that the affected elderly person is free from Covid-19 infection.
This elderly man from Muniyalu had gone to his son's house in Israel and returned on February 4. The health department of the district, which got the information that the person is having preliminary symptoms of Coronavirus, who was also suffering from blood pressure, diabetes and mild asthma, brought him and admitted into the Isolation ward of the district hospital and monitored his health. As the report turned negative, the man is discharged on the evening of Saturday.
Stating to this effect, DC of the district G Jagadeesh said, "As the suspected elderly person from Muniyalu had preliminary symptoms of Coronavirus infection, his throat culture was sent to the laboratory in Bengaluru for testing. The report has turned negative. Even the people have to take precautions against the epidemic.
