Dr Derek Lobo addressed in his message that the emerging global consensus is that despite some progress, real change has been agonizingly slow for the majority of women and girls in the world.

Today, not a single country can claim to have achieved gender equality. Multiple obstacles remain unchanged in law and in culture. Therefore, there is a need for women to actively participate in society and bring up the social change in gender equity.

Sr Dr Jeswina AC, principal of St Agnes College (autonomous), presided over the programme.

Womens cell members showcased various phases in the life of women by performing Mime show, singing entertainment song and students from post graduate department performed an thematic dance.

The Agnesian Alumni Association then continued the programme to honour the women achievers of the college. Vivid Dsouza, secretary of Alumni Association proposed the vote of thanks. Women’s cell member Dale and Ruhi compered the programme.
