Chitradurga, Feb 29: BJP MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal spoke in favour of new BJP minister Narayana Gowda, who was taken to task by the public of the state for saying 'Jai Shivaji, Jai Maharashtra', and said that minister Narayanagowda has raised slogans in favour of a state of India and not Pakistan and there is no wrong in it.
Speaking to the scribes in the city, Yatnal said, "There should not be any issue in minister Narayana Gowda saying ‘Jai Maharashtr’a. It is also a state of our country and not Pakistan. Why pro-Kannada activists have not raised their voices when pro-Pakistan slogans were raised in the state? Where were these land mafias when pro-Pakistan slogans were raised in Hubballi and Bengaluru?"
A video in which BJP minister Naryana Gowda of K R Pet constituency had said Jai Maharashtra in a programme on February 20 as most of the audience were Maharashtrians. This video has gone viral on social media.
