Kundapur, Feb 28: The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has, in response to the letter written to the Prime Minister by Vighnesh Shenoy from here, responded by saying that the long-pending flyover work that is pending since long will be completed by March 31 this year.

This has come as a great relief for the road users, particularly from the coastal area who frequently had to contend with traffic jams because of pending works.

Shenoy had drawn the attention of the Prime Minister to the ordeal faced by the road users and also to the fact that toll charges up to Kundapur is being collected at Hejamady and Sastan toll gates even though road works have not been completed.

NHAI has said that the works were delayed at Shastri Circle on account of frequent modifications in the plan and funds crunch faced by the contractors and that the work is going on briskly at present. It also added that toll charges are collected only for the completed stretch of the highway and that the toll fee will be enhanced once the remaining road work is completed.
