Mangaluru, Feb 25: Muslim Ikyatha Vedike led by former Mayor K Ashraf organised anti-CAA, NRC and NPR protest at Tipu Sultan Garden at Kudroli on Tuesday, February 25.
Addressing the protesters, activist B R Bhaskar Prasad said, "I aplogise to the daughter of Jaleel who lost his life in golibar. We could have saved your father but our system claimed his life. I congratulate Ra Chinthan for bringing out the book 'Mangaluru Golibaar’. This book will give courage and make you give answers for those who justify Mangaluru Golibar. 20 years ago there were five MP's from Billava community. However, after you people joined BJP and started chanting Jai Sri Ram, today there is not a single MP from Billava community.”
He also said, "Most of the fishing sectors are owned by Muslim community and workers are from OBC, SC/ST and other sections of the society. Just because Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat said that if you hate Muslims then you are patriot, all of you have turned against Muslims those who have given you employment.”
“Even I was in RSS for 20 years and I have quit RSS. The parents who are sending kids to attend the camps should know that they are being prepared to become murderers or even die. Even we had involved in violence. When Police detains us, none of these RSS leaders will come to save you. It is only parents who have to struggle to make their children to get out of it,” said B R Bhaskar Prasad.
“See the present condition of Chaitra Kundapur who was once known for provocative speeches. Have we ever noticed children of Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat attending camps? His children are in good position and well settled. They need innocent people to involve in violence and go to jail. Nalin Kumar Kateel spoke on setting district on fire. Isn't he a traitor? What about the 13 navy sailors who were spying for Pakistan. Aren't they traitors?” said B R Bhaskar Prasad
“CAA, NRC and NPR are anti-constitution, anti-people and are troubling us because we have given power to BJP. If we did not give power to them, this would not have happened. This is not only a fight against CAA, NRC and NPR, but also to send BJP out of this country and this should be a political campaign,” said B R Bhaskar Prasad.
He also said, "BJP had only Ram Mandir and cow issue to divert the minds of people. Anyhow, after trying for 28 years, finally they came to power. Today, top 6 beef exporter companies belong to Brahmins. We should fight in such a way that if BJP comes for seeking vote for next election, we should chase them off. When they seek vote, people are citizens of this country or else they will start questioning about our citizenship.”
Journalist Ra Chinthan said, "Our citizenship is the tri-color flag. When someone comes asking our documents to prove our citizenship, just show them the tri-colour flag. They keep on chanting Pakistan name every now and then. Why we should remember Pakistan to kill our innocent people, soldiers? I say Pakistan Murdabad.”
Prajna Thakur can say ‘Jai Godse’ in Parliament, and some openly speak on changing the Constitution. Are they not traitors? We should not divide people on the grounds of religion, caste and creed, but need to work for building a strong society by not breaking it. Why there is a trend of Muslims doing puncture repair jobs? Why not IAS, IPS, police jobs? If the right opportunity was given in politics for the last 70 years, you would have been in Modi's cabinet by now,” said Ra Chinthan.
“I feel very bad for the daughter of Jaleel. We should take oath that we should make her educated and she should become the Police commissioner of Mangaluru which will be revenge. Half the proceeds from the book, will be given to support her education,” said Ra Chintan.
Rafeeuddin Kudroli said, "Government should tell us the consequences if we do not produce the documents. There are 22 questions in the applications of NPR in which 2 questions are connected to NRC.”
M G Mohammed said, "If we raise voice against the constitution law, then we are termed as anti-nationals. Why the media has failed in highlighting 13 navy officials spying for Pakistan? Why is this bias?” questioned M G Mohammed.
Meanwhile, Journalist Ra Chintan released book titled 'Mangaluru Golibar'.
