Mangaluru, Feb 18: MSNM Besant Institute of Post Graduate Studies in association with Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry is hosting a day's conference on ‘Start-ups in India– Challenges, Issues and Opportunities’ on Thursday February 20 at Nethravathi auditorium of MSNM Besant campus, Bondel, here.
Dr A M Khan, registrar, Mangalore University will inaugurate the conference at 9.30 am. Vittaldas Leeladhar, former Deputy Governor, Reserve Bank of India will deliver the keynote address.
The conference will give an insight into the issues involved in starting a new business. The day is divided into four sessions: (1) Experience sharing by a successful founder of a start-up (2) Role of private equity in promoting startups (3) Role of incubation centres in promoting startups (4) Panel discussions.
Swasthik Padma, Bobby Pauly, Gaurang Shetty and Dr Madanmohan Rao are the resource persons for the different sessions.
K Devananda Pai, secretary, Women’s National Education Society (WNES) will be the chief guest for the valedictory function at 4.30 pm.
Kudpi Jagadish Shenoy, president, WNES is the chief patron, Manel Annappa Nayak, secretary, WNES is the patron and Dr Molly S Chaudhuri is the chairperson of the conference. Prof Ravisha B, Prof Ashlatha and Prof Usha Mogra are the conference conveners.
