Bangalore, Oct 27: Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) chief and BJP MLA Somashekara Reddy has got himself into trouble with his associate’s alleged threat to a person who showed interest to participate in a tender process called by Karnataka Power Corporation Limited (KPCL).
A complaint against BJP MLA Reddy, his associate Madhav Gowda and 18 others has been lodged at the Upparpet police station on Sunday October 26 evening accusing them of abducting one Prashanth Shetty, the manager of the Bangalore-based Shankara Narayana Constructions Power Corporation. Prashanth in the complaint has stated that managing director of the company Seetharam Shetty was threatened of dire consequences when he had gone to receive the tender applications at a complex near Anand Rao Circle here. “However, we did not take the threat seriously and I was sent to submit the tender application on Saturday evening after which I was abducted by Gowda and was taken to Karunakar Reddy’s house on Race Course Road forcibly in a car, alleged Prashanth in the complaint.
It is further alleged that Prashanth was released on Sunday after threating him of dire consequences if he participates in the tender process. Prashanth also suspects that the people behind a Hyderabad-based company, which is participating in the tender process to be behind the act as they are the close aids of Somashekar Reddy. It is said that this is the second time that Prashanth has been abducted for the same reason.
