Mangaluru, Feb 12: A foreign exchange programme was organized at St Aloysius Industrial Training Institute on February 11 at 11.30 am in the college auditorium.
The programme commenced by inaugurating the electrical tools and newly built electrical wiring room in the electrical workshop and was blessed by Fr Dr Leo D’Souza SJ, former director of the institution.
Silvana Rizzi, Alberto Pessani and Roberta Nepoti from Italy were the dignitaries.
The formal programme commenced with a prayer conducted by the students. A beautiful welcome dance was presented by the Sewing Technology students. Later, Alwyn Menezes, vice-principal escorted the dignitaries to the dais. Fr Cyril D'Mello SJ, director of the institution extended a cordial welcome to the dignitaries and were honoured with a shawl and garland.
Participation certificates were distributed on February 7 and 8 by the guest to the students who participated in the Tech Fest 2020. Addressing the students, Silvana Rizzi, great grand-niece of Br Antonio Moscheni who had painted the world's famous paintings in St Aloysius Chapel said, "Fifteen years back when they had visited, there were only 50 students and now she was happy to see large number of students studying in the institute. She encouraged the girl students to be taught in large numbers and wished that in the coming years she would see a large number of girl students in the institute. Alberto Pessani and Roberta Nepoti also wished all the students for their bright future.
Alwyn Menezes, vice-principal proposed the vote of thanks. Robin Vas, junior training officer conducted the programme.
The programme concluded with the National Anthem.
