Udupi, Oct 21: “NSS camps train the youth to live a disciplined and organized life. The graded training of NSS camps is also helpful in shaping the future leaders of a strong India”, said Dr Prabhakar Shetty, president of Dandateerta Group of Education Institutions, Kaup, near here.
Dr Shetty was speaking after inaugurating the NSS special camp organized for Sri Vidhyaniketan Pre-university College, Kaup, on Tuesday October 20. It was held on the college premises.
K P Acharya, correspondent of Vidhyaniketan Group of Education Institutions, in his presidential address, said that NSS camps indeed inspire and boost the self-confidence of the youth during their college studies.
Taluk panchayat member Jagdish Acharya, Dandateerta College principal Alban Rodrigues, Uliyaragoli gram panchayat vice-president Ramesh Shetty, vice-principal M Neelanand Naik, Kaup Hosamarigudi temple managing committee member Vijayalaxmi R Shetty, Dandateerta Kannada Medium School head teacher Jaya Bai, and Vidhyaniketan Pre-university College principal Santhosh Kumar were the chief guests on the occasion.
Vidhyaniketan Pre-university College NSS officer Pavitra welcomed the gathering. Mathematics lecturer Vadiraj proposed the vote of thanks. Lecturer Shanthi compered the programme.
