He said he saw Amritha had opened the almirah and that she was searching for something. "When I questioned her, she attacked me and stabbed the right side of my neck for murdering me. When I escaped from her and wanted to know about my mother, she said that she had stabbed her mother and hit her with a hoe and killed her," he added.
He said when questioned about the motive of the murder, Amritha told him that she had raised loan of about Rs 15 lac and the lenders have threatened to come to her home. "She said that she wanted to kill me and my mother before fleeing as she does not want our reputations to be sullied. As blood was oozing from my neck, I became very weak. When I tried to catch hold of her, she pushed me away and ran out," he stated.
CCTV images showed Amritha fleeing with Sridhar Rao after the dastardly act. The police succeeded in arresting both of them from Port Blair. It is said that the police, who believed that the murder happened because of financial issues, realized during the questioning that the murders were committed as the family members were opposed to Amritha's plan to marry Sridhar Rao.
