Mangaluru, Feb 5: The first Rashtriya Lok Adalat of 2020 of Karnataka will be held at all district and taluk court centres under the aegis of Karnataka Law Services Authority and Dakshina Kannada Law Services Authority on February 8 as per the information shared by district judge Sathyanarayana Acharya Kandlur in a press conference.
Explaining the details and importance of Lok Adalat, justice Sathyanarayana further said, "Last year 4,820 cases were resolved through Lok Adalat. So far, in this year, 618 cases are registered to be decided under the Lok Adalat. In Lok Adalat familial, civil and revenue cases of cheque bounce, financial extortion, cases related to telephone, electricity, water, land encroachment and acquisition, motor vehicle cases, labour issues and maintenance expenses will be decided."
Sharada, additional judge of district first additional court, Gangadhar, member of Law Services Authority, N Narasimha Hegde, president of Mangaluru Bar association and Raghavendra, secretary were present.
