We do not have laws as to how the police should act when there is a crowd pelting stones at the police. In case there is a substantially big crowd of protesters pelting stones at the police, can the police gun down many or all of them? What about the police officer asking why not many are gunned down?
Take the example of a person raising his hands and surrendering to the police in anti CAA protest. He was pounded as if he was a stone. The protester did not attack the police but surrendered to the police with both hands raised. A civilized society sees its ok for the police to thrash him after surrendering? Those who say yes, need to taste the same medicine and then they will change their mind.

So according to ur logic a mob of ppl come to statebank and burn some innocent persons 2 wheeler, damage business property and then surrender. Police should take them into custody in a very friendly manner, do u also sugest police to offer them tea, coffee and snacks as well??.
