Tumakuru, Feb 1: "Nathuram Godse, by assassinating Mahatma Gandhi, did great injustice to the country. But the Congressmen, by destroying Gandhian principles, have done injustice that is much larger in size," said minister, C T Ravi.
He was speaking to media persons in the city on Friday January 31 on the matter of comparisons being made by some people between Modi and Godse. "Some people think that just by adding the surname, 'Gandhi' to their names, they have actually become Gandhis. It is easy to adopt the name of Gandhi and dress like him. But it is not easy to become a Gandhi," he stressed.
Ravi recalled that Gandhiji had desired that there should be no politics that is not based on principles. "But the Congress is indulging in corruption, nepotism and such other things sans principles. Gandjiji wanted the Congress party to be dissolved after independence but the Congress did the opposite. Congress played caste-based and vote-based politics. Rahul Gandhi is speaking because he is desperate. I have heard that Rahul Gandhi's grandfather was a member of the army headed by Mussolini. Perhaps, the adulterated mindset can be seen here. Rahul Gandhi's dream of becoming Prime Minister has turned out to be the beggar's dream," he stated.
Referring to the condemnation of President's remark criticizing atrocities in Pakistan, he wanted to know whether the Congress is keeping in mind the atrocities unleashed against Hindus in Pakistan. "Partition of India was a child born out of Congress's sin. Hindus from there did not want it," he explained.
