Mangaluru, Jan 30: After receving excellent response from audience, Konkani serial ‘Mrs Meena and Family’, telecasted on Daijiworld 24x7 TV, will come to a grand end. The show’s last episode will be aired on January 31.
The show, which started in February 2019, has completed 51 episodes. This is a record in Konkani television and entertainment industry. ‘Mrs Meena and Family’ is a 25 to 30 minute sitcom style serial based on family values which delivers its message to viewers as to how to live in a family by taking care of each other. The plot of each episode was different. However, the most common plot was the quarrel between the mother, son, daughter-in-law and a family friend. Though the entire family had a strong dislike towards each other, they shared mutual respect. Every plot was based on current affairs and social issues.

In association with Daijiworld TV 24x7, Frank Fernandes who is already a well-known producer in Konkani, Kannada and Tulu film industry, produced ‘Mrs Meena and Family’ along with James Mendonca, an NRI businessman and philanthropist.
Well-known Konkani writer and Mangaluru based journalist Stany Bela directed the serial. Along with direction, Stany also wrote the story and handled the script and screenplay of the serial.
Rita Fernandes Bendur, Jeevan Vas Kulshekar, Sapna Saldanha Vamanjoor, Mellu Valencia, Shanthi Priya Lasrado, Joshal D Souza, Derebail , Sheldon Tauro, Bondel and Shweta Vas Kulshekar were in the lead and succeeded showcase their talents. The charectors ‘Babooti’ , ‘Meena’, ‘Lynet’ ‘Dennu’ , ‘Priya’, ‘PG’, ‘Mario’ succeeded to get a special place in the hearts of viewers with their mixture of emotions and timely humour.
“In the initial stage, we had planned to shoot 25 episodes. But after considering the popularity and public demand, we decided to continue it up to 50. To give an end to the story, we were compelled to telecast 52 episodes. Now officially, we are announcing that the 52nd episode is the last one of ‘Mrs Meena and Family’. We tried to give something new to people. It was a risky experiment. But people accepted it whole-heartedly and the viewers themselves became the brand ambassadors of the serial. The feedbacks and comments showed how this serial influenced them. On behalf of my team, I thank to all our viewers for their support and wishes. It will lead us to innovations and more projects,” says Stany Bela, director of the serial.
The entire shoot was done at Vamnajoor and its nearby places. Dayanand Kukkaje, Ranjan Shirva and Durgaprasad Kakkyapadav worked behind the camera. Noel D’Souza, Puttur, was the editor of the serial while Srikanth Srinivas handled the dubbing part of the serial. The post-production work was done at Daijiworld Audio Visual Pvt Ltd under the leadership of Ashith Glen Pinto.
