Kundapur, Jan 28: An auto-rickshaw driver was arrested for allegedly sexually harassing a minor in Maranakatte in Kundapur on Tuesday, January 28.
The driver identified as Suryanarayana (22), used to take up tuition for schoolchildren in his free time.
The victim, a student of class 4 used to attend his tuition classes. Allegedly, Suryanarayana used to behave obscenely with the girl and harass her sexually.
The girl complained to her parents about his behaviour. The parents approached the Kollur police station and lodged a complaint. An FIR was registered against him under the POCSO Act. He was arrested by the Kollur police and is currently in judicial custody.
