Bagalkot, Jan 28: BJP MLA Basanagowda Patil Yatnal, who is in news of late for wrong reasons, has given one more controversial statement in which he said, "Vallabhai Patel had the support of majority of the leaders after Indian got independence. Even then Mahatma Gandhi made Jawaharlal Nehru as the first prime minister (PM) of India. Because of a grave error of judgement of Mahatma Gandhi, unworthy Nehru became the prime minister of our country."
Yatnal was speaking at a programme in Terdal of Bagalkot district. He further said, "Because of Gandhiji's mistake Nehru, who was leading a royal life, became the first prime minister of India. He used to get cigarettes from London. His clothes used to go to London for laundry service. People like this are talking about poorer section of the society. Till date no one is divulging the reason for the deaths of Lal Bahadur Shastri and Subhash Chandra Bose.
"Have you heard of any bomb or gun attack recently in Kashmir? The infiltration of terrorists has stopped completely. Our politicians themselves talk cheaply about our soldiers and policemen. One of our ineligible politician says that people who do not have food to eat join military forces (taunting former CM Kumaraswamy). There is no threat to Muslims due to CAA. People who indulge in chair politics have problem with CAA.
"The Rohingyas in our country are the most dangerous race. People like Kapil Sibal argue for Roghingya Muslims. Mamata Banerjee has given Rs five lac to the two victims of police firing in the anti-CAA protests in Mangaluru. What is her relation she has with our Karnataka boy? For the sake of getting votes of the public of Kolkata, she has given compensation."
Attacking Siddaramaiah verbally, MLA Yatnal said, "Former CM Siddaramaiah said that he will go to Mangaluru after the anti-CAA violence, even at the cost of his life. Where was he sleeping when deluge occurred in Badami? When there were floods he did not visit the flood-affected areas saying that his eye is operated. When he went to Mangaluru also he had just had an angioplasty right?"
