Manglauru, Jan 27: Noting that some vested interests have been spreading falsified and baseless information about the planting of an improvised explosive device at the airport here, city police commissioner Dr P S Harsha, has warned the concerned of strict action. He said that notices have been served to people who have spread misinformation on the issue. He said that irrespective of who is spreading such information, those found involved will be booked under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
Investigation on hoax call: In the meanwhile, Adithya Rao, accused of creating a scare by leaving a bomb at the airport here, who is in police custody, stayed put at the office of the assistant commissioner of police (north) at Panambur here on Sunday. He was not taken to anywhere for inquest but the police have now undertaken a probe into fake bomb hoax call he had made.
During the period he was working at a hotel in Balmatta here, Aditya had surfed through the internet to study how to make a bomb. He had indented explosive materials by way of small consignments. The cyber branch police are now conducting detailed investigation into the emails dispatched by Rao relating to these purchases which reportedly were made from Chennai.
It has transpired that after leaving a bomb at the airport here, he had made a hoax bomb call to IndiGo Airlines from Malpe. After the call was made, he had discarded the mobile SIM used for the call. The cyber police have been undertaking detailed investigation that covers his entire gamut of activities during the recent months.
