Dharwad, Jan 26: In a tragic incident, four persons including Sri Basaveshwara Swamiji of Shivanand Math, Kundgol were killed in a ghastly accident here on Sunday January 26.
The accident took place when two cars collided head-on on national highway 4 at Yarikoppa here. The impact was such that one of the cars turned turtle.
Four including Basaveshwara Swamiji and the driver of the car were killed in the accident.
Somanna Desai, Basappa Poojara and Siddappa Ingalalli were injured. They have been admitted to a local hospital.
Somanna Desai is a relative of Congress leader Vinay Kulkarni.
Following the accident, traffic was disrupted on the highway for sometime.
