Mangaluru, Jan 25: The second edition of ‘Bondel Fiesta’ at St Lawrence Church, Bondel was inaugurated by Codialbail Press manager Fr Ronald D’Souza on Saturday, January 25.
Christian Development Board of Karnataka chairman Joylus D’Souza, Pacchanady ward corporator Sangeetha R Nayak, Citadel developers managing partner Ajith Kumar, Sandeep and others were also present during the inaugural function.
Assistant parish priest of Bondel Church Fr Cyril Lobo blessed the Bondel Fiesta 2020. The two-day fiesta will be a spectacular event comprising of high quality entertainment accompanied by sumptuous and homely food stalls. This event is being held for the aid of various development projects of the shrine. On Sunday, January 26, the fiesta will begin at 8 am and will continue up to 10 pm.
Both vegetarian and non-vegetarian delicacies will be served. Entertainment and fun games will be the held every minute to keep up the spirits of the participants. Lucky draw, housie, traditional and creative team games, live singing, musical evening etc. will make Bondel Fiesta a place to be during the two days said Fr Clifford Pinto, principal of St Lawrence English Medium School.
Just like the previous year’s fiesta, the event is expected to run full house. People are requested to confirm their participation in advance by purchasing entry passes. The event has all the ingredients to become one of the best and memorable moments. To keep the audience enthralled, the fiesta will have exciting spot prizes and lucky draws will be held during the event.
Mega competitions like ‘Star Chef of Fiesta’ and 'Talented Siblings’ are also part of the event. Nonstop music from well-known DJ Acvin will be an added attraction. As a part of social media reach, a competition called Star of Fiesta will he held. Here individual pictures are posted in the Bondel fiesta frame and shared among the social media groups. The picture with highest likes will be declared as star of fiesta and will be awarded with cash prize of Rs 5, 555.
On January 26, Mangaluru diocese bishop Dr Peter Paul Saldanha will release the CD ‘Mogachi Lara’ composed by Vincent Fernandes Cascia.
St Lawrence Church parish priest Fr Andrew Leo D'Souza, St Lawrence principal English Medium School Fr Clifford Pinto, Pastrol Parish Council vice president Reginald D'Souza, secretary Steevan Noronha and coordinator cultural and entertainment committee Manoj Lewis were present.
