Mangalore, Oct 7: The Canara Organization for Development and Peace (CODP), Mangalore in collaboration with Hongirana Network organized a district-level PLHIV meet at CODP-ISD on Monday October 5.
The inaugural programme was followed by an interactive session between the government officers and PLHIV participants. The main demands put forward by the participants were to start taluk-wise link ART centres, to provide nutritious food to needy PLHIVs at ART centres and make available government schemes like Ashraya yojna, BPL card and widow pension among others to PLHIVs.
The government officers responded well and assured the participants that their demands will be placed before the deputy commissioner for his positive consideration. District health officer Dr Jagannath, district medical officer, Dr Prabhudeva DAPCO Dr Kishore, ART Medical Officer Dr Kiran, ART in-charge Dr Eeranna, KSAPS Officer Matty and CODP director Fr Onil D’Souza were present.
In all 80 members participated in the meet.
