Sullia, Jan 22: In an incident reported from a village in the taluk on the night of Monday January 20, a youth who tried to rape a lady was arrested. The woman in question resides alone in a house at Chennadka near Doddathota village in the taluk.
A person named Shiva reportedly drove his motorbike to the residence of the woman in question. He tried to force himself on the lady. The lady raised an alarm. At this, those living in the houses in the neighbourhood came running. The youth immediately escaped in his motorbike, it is learnt.
A complaint was filed against the person concerned in Bellare police station. The police have taken the man into custody.
