Kasargod, Jan 21: Campaign urging for investigation into mysterious death of Miyapadavu Vidyavardhaka high school teacher Roopashree B K has become intense. There were attempts to gherao the school in the leadership of Meenja Janapara Vedike on Tuesday, January 21, but the protesters sat in protests in front of the school gate later. Hundreds of protesters arrived in procession urging for justice.
Students and parents said that the death is mysterious and urged that a male teacher who was harassing her should be suspended. “A case should be registered against him,” they urged.
Leaders of different political parties, office bearer of local groups and protesters who had gathered in large number shouted slogans for justice. Police personnel stopped protesters who were trying to enter the school premises.
Jayarama Ballangudelu, Kunhi, Shukoor, Vahid, Dayaker Mada, Ali and others led the protests.
The body of Roopashree B K (40) resident of Chigurupade was found near Paruvad sea shore, Kumble on January 18.
