Puttur: Court absolves bus driver of reckless driving charge

Puttur, Jan 20: The senior civil judge and ACJ court here, which was hearing a case of accident that happened four years ago, has discharged the accused driver of all the charges. He has been declared not guilty.

On August 30, 2016, the private bus driven by Muhammad had hit Ramu alias Ramesh, and Shariff, who were standing by the side of the road at Neerakatte in Bajathur village, Puttur taluk. Both of them were injured, and Ramesh had died when being shifted to hospital. Shariff, who was injured, had recovered in course of time.

Puttur traffic police had registered case of reckless driving against the bus driver. They had also filed charge sheet.

Puttur chief senior civil judge and ACJM court judge Manjunath Joshi, has absolved the bus driver of all charges. The accused was represented in the court by advocate Mahesh Kaje.
