Udupi, Jan 20: The Youth Red Cross unit of MPM GFGC, Karkala, which is the Lead College for Red Cross activities of Udupi District organised a unique and relevant campaign on ‘Beach Cleaning’ at Malpe Beach, on Sunday, January 19.
Around 85 active YRC volunteers of the college engaged in cleaning and collecting the garbage of the Beach side. Besides, they also interacted with visitors and public requesting to maintain cleanliness and avoid use of plastic items which was the major source of the waste collected. As a best practice, the volunteers brought their own household plastic/fibre/gunny bags thereby preventing additional use of plastic as ‘garbage bags’.

Manju Kola, president of Hindu Yuva Sene of Udupi district was present with the Team throughout the event and extended all the support.
