Udupi, Jan 18: A case is registered at the CEN police station of the city by a woman accusing an online recruitment company of cheating her of lac of rupees on the pretext of promising her a job.
Shakeela Kumari (27), wife of Udaya, a resident of Hurmala Katte Shirvashe of Karkala taluk had received a message from Shain.com online company on June 21, 2019. With the thought of getting a lucrative job, Shakeela sent all the relevant documents to recruiterservices314@gmail.com. She was asked to pay Rs 7,500 though Google Pay. In addition, she paid Rs two lac through Google pay to the company as registration charges, service charges, visa verification charges and other expenses.
As Shakeela received phone calls from the recruitment agency on November 16, 2019, she transferred Rs 42,000 and Rs 20,000 through online. So, in total, Shakeela paid Rs 2.69 lac to the online recruitment agency. However, she has not yet got a job.
When Shakeela came to know that she is taken for a ride by the company, she duly filed a complaint with the CEN police station of the city. Further investigation is on.
