Mumbai, Jan 14: Late Chandrashekar Rao Memorial Trust held a programme in association with Chukki Sankula at Bhandup on January 9.
Jayanti C Rao who presided over the programme said that the trust is created as per the wish of late Chandrashekar Rao. “Extending monetary help to the weak and supporting those who are talented in literature, but lagging behind is the intention of the trust. We intend to go forward with all your cooperation. The cooperation of S Daya and Gopal Trasi who were close to poet, author and artiste Rao is valuable in this connection.”
Authors Sharada Ambesange, Dr Rajani V Pai, Dr Dakshayini Yadahalli, Saroja Amathi, Kumuda Shetty read poetry. Arun Shet and S Shenoy spoke on the context.
Poor students were handed over donations. Children sang songs, performed dances and read poems. Hope Foundation Dharavi’s Anil Bodal, Bheemaraya Chilka and others were present. Poet, story writer Gopal Trasi welcomed the gathering and gave an introduction. He read poems by late Chandrashekar Rao, compered the programme and thanked everyone. The programme concluded after the National Anthem.
