Dubai, Sep 26: St Mary’s Konkan Community (SMKC), Dubai distributed the prestigious annual academic award ‘SMKC Scholastic Awards 2008-2009’ during the monthly Konkani mass in St Mary’s Church here on Thursday October 24. 

The academic recognition award was initiated by SMKC for the young children of St Mary’s Konkan community to reward their sincere efforts and achievement in educational field. In all five students of grade X to XII of CBSE Board/O Level/A Level education from various schools in Dubai,  who achieved the highest aggregate marks in the final examination of scholastic calendar year 2008-2009  were selected and rewarded with a memento, cash and  a SMKC Scholastic Award certificate.










SMKC spiritual director Fr Freddy D’Souza and SMKC main co-ordinator Boniface Carlo presented the awards and certificates to students. Den Senora D’Mello, student of X Std, CBSC from Indian High School, Rachel Ferrao, student of X Std, CBSC from Our Own Indian School, Ashlin Sreedhar, XII Std, CBSC (Science) from Indian High School

Chris D’Souza  - XII Std-CBSC (Commerce) from Our Own English High School and Avril Maria Pinto, GCSE/O Level from St Mary’s Catholic High School were the scholarship awardees, stated Jerina Lewis in a media release.
