Mangalore, Sep 24: The four youths, who are facing the charges of assaulting and trying to rape three women at a bar in Tokkottu near here on September 17, have been released on bail.
Out of the four young men, two are the children of a police sub-inspector.
Pawan Kumar, Kishore, Deepak and Rakesh have been named as accused in the case. They reportedly tried to outrage the modesty of Jennifer (25), Swati Pai (24) and Anand Fernandes, employees of a Bangalore-based event management company. It is said, the girls were having food at the said bar, when the four men, too visited the said bar to have food. The men allegedly made sexual advances towards them after eve-teasing and pulling at their clothes. The policemen were called and the youngsters were taken into custody.
After being in judicial custody, the four were released on bail on Tuesday. Deepak (24) and Rakesh (22) are the sons of Gangadhar Rao, sub-inspector of the armed reserve police force here.
