Panaji, Jan 3: Three former Congress party workers joined BJP before the pro-CAA rally on Friday to show their support for the act.
Former Panaji Congress block committee president Prasad Amonkar, ex-block committee secretary Dinesh Kubal and former youth leader Shivraj Tarkar, who had resigned from Congress earlier in the morning protesting against party's stand on Citizenship Amendment Act and National Register of Citizens joined BJP.
Panaji MLA Atanasio Monserrate welcomed the three Congressmen. Speaking to the reporters, Amonkar claimed he joined BJP to show his support for CAA and develop the city of Panaji.
Amonkar declared that Congress was misleading the public and creating unrest among the minorities.
