Ramanagara: Work on installing statue of Jesus at Kapala Betta stalled

Daijiworld Media Network - Ramanagara (SP)

Ramanagara, Jan 1: The work that was going on at Kapala Betta in Kanakapura taluk in the district with regard to installation of Jesus Christ statue there has been halted for the present. Police personnel have been deployed to guard the hill.

Even before the district administration submitted its report on the said project, the government has transferred Kanakapura tahsildar, Anandayya. In his place, Varsha, tahsildar of Yalandur, has been transferred as per an order issued on Monday night. Anandaiah is yet to be shown his new place of posting. Varsha did not take over charge on Tuesday but Anandaiah did not attend office on December 31.

Under instructions from the government Anandaiah along with sub divisional officer Dakshayini, had visited the hill and conducted spot inspection. Report was expected to be submitted in a few days. In the meanwhile, the tahsildar has been transferred.

There have been claims that the government took harsh action against Anandaiah for being close to Congress legislator and former minister D K Shivakumar. BJP leaders like MLC Ravikumar, deputy chief minister Ashwath Narayan and others had been vocally critical of Anandaiah on the issue.

After the visit by officials, the work on statue has been suspended. A few workers who were engaged in carving of stones have left the spot.

Jesus did not ask to built a statue of his . He just asked to love and help people those who are in need. Why to waste so much money to show pride and richness instead spend that money to give basic needs to poor people of the country. Feed hungry, give roof to those who do not have, help sick this is what He wants ..Really Crazy!!! when you can't follow what He thought then what is the necessity of politicizing Him.

there is huge difference between two Gujarat statute is tax payer funded, this statue is funded by local people, however the money can be better spent on the people rather than on a stone.

Come on Shettre from Dubai...Statue of Jesus..government is not spending from tax payers money. Statue of unity or any other statue government is wasting public money..Don't compare these two. Statue of unity only for vote gains and nothing else and you must be knowing the quality of work there. We did not object when UAE government gave land to build temple in UAE. UAE government had no problem to give land to temple or churches but Indian government has problem for statue of Jesus that too on private property and private funds.

Jesus is merciful and kind. He will bless all regardless of religion. If you oppose cross never mind. Jesus may give you a cross heavy cross to carry during your life time on this earth. Heavy cross contains pain, sorrows, humiliation, poverty and many more. Carrying cross is not easy but at the end everyone become experienced humble human beings to serve the poor and downtrodden. Our politicians require heavy cross on thier shoulders to feel the pain of the poor and hungry.

It reminds of a famous saying in Kannada...." Yellarannu bitta, Chontta nannu hididha". , which goes aptly on this topic. Jesus does not need His statue nor this dirty politics of cruel minds. All He needs is a small place in humble human hearts.

Those days are over. Now a days statues also need support of a strong God father. Many beautiful and Godly statues are there unattended and crows do daily art on their heads.

Deepak..statue of unity who is paying money??? We are paying for it. Statue of Jesus it's being paid by private people and zero rupees going from government treasury. Try to differentiate between waste of public money and private money. Christians are peace loving people. Just see how many schools they have built, how many hospitals they have built and we are getting benefit from them. They have not reserved their institutions only for them instead they serve all the people. If you feel government is taking care of you, then why you are in Dubai an islamic country? Come back to India and see how Modi and Amit Shah disturbed the peace in the society. It is easy to scribble while sitting in AC rooms but reality is different here.
