Bengaluru, Dec 26: Former chief minister and union minister for chemicals and fertilizers, D V Sadananda Gowda, has advised the state government to book people indulging in pre-planned attacks, disturbances, loot etc under provisions of treason and arrest them.
Speaking to media persons here on Wednesday, December 25, Gowda expressed the opinion that those indulging in these acts should be arrested without any hesitation. He wanted the government to make sure that such incidents do not happen anywhere in the state including the coastal belt. He expressed the opinion that there is a strong case for booking the culprits for treason and take other legal steps as per law.
"After watching video clips and CCTV records of disturbances in Mangaluru, it becomes clear that it is a pre-planned attack and the trouble mongers were aiming at use the occasion to create unrest and loot things," he said.
In the meantime, addressing people at Harapanahalli on Wednesday, rural development and panchayat raj minister K S Eshwarappa, said that those who died in the police firing at Mangaluru had covered their faces with clothes. Stating that this fact has been proved through CCTV footage, he wondered how compensation can be paid to people who aimed to attack police and kill others.
