Mangaluru: Traffic ASI injured in accident passes away

Mangaluru, Dec 24: Chandrahas (58), a traffic assistant police sub-inspector (ASI) working in the city (south) station, who was battling for his life after suffering serious injuries in an accident, passed away in a hospital on Monday December 23.

Chandrahas was moving towards Pumpwell from the direction of Thokkottu on November 15 this year on duty, when a car had hit him. He suffered fatal injuries in the accident. His end came in a private hospital in the city where he was being treated, in the early morning of Monday.

The victim is survived by wife, daughter, and mother. He was from Bastipadpu in Ullal. In the past, he had worked in traffic (east) and Lokayukta police stations before being transferred to traffic (south) station.

    Indeed a very sad episode in the life and history of an A.S.I. who had almost reached his retirement age. Hope his family get suitable compensation.
