Udupi, Dec 21: Chief minister (CM) B S Yediyurappa visited senior Swamiji of Pejawar Math here, Sri Vishweshateertha Swamiji, at KMC Hospital Manipal on Saturday, December 21.
The 88-year-old Swamiji has been admitted to the hospital after he suffered from respiratory problem on Thursday.
Addressing mediapersons, CM Yediyurappa said, “I will pray for the recovery of Swamiji. The doctors here are doing their best. Swamiji is recovering now. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and home minister Amit Shah have spoken to authorities over the health condition of Swamiji.
“Pejawar Swamiji has been one of the central figures for Ram Mandir to be constructed at Ayodhya. I want him to be a part of it in future when a grand temple is built
there.
“He has served people all his life. I am sure he will overcome all hurdles and will continue serving humanity,” he said.
State minister Basavarj Bommai, Udupi-Chikkamagaluru MP Shoba Karandlaje, MLA Raghupati Bhat and others were present.
The CM was welcomed by party members and representatives earlier.
Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari D Veerendra Heggade also visited Swamiji earlier in the day. Union minister Nirmala Sitharaman enquired about Swamiji's well-being earlier on phone. MLA U T Khader and MLC Ivan D'Souza also visited Swamiji at the hospital.
