Bantwal: Kannada Jyoti Ratha arrives to promote 87th Akhila Bharata Kannada Sahitya Sammelana

Bantwal, Nov 8: In an effort to preserve the Kannada language and culture, the Akhila Bharata Kannada Sahitya Sammelana is being organized, and everyone is encouraged to participate, said Dr M P Srinath, president of Kannada Sahitya Parishat, Dakshina Kannada district.

He was speaking during the formal welcome ceremony of the Kannada Jyoti Ratha, which arrived near the BC Road flyover on Friday morning. The event, organized by the taluk administration and Kannada Sahitya Parishat, included garlanding the statue of Bhuvaneshwari. Dr Srinath stated that through the literary meet, people can study the history and current affairs of the land and language, as well as gain knowledge about the Kannada language and culture. In this context, the Ratha, which is traveling for 87 days, arrived in Bantwal as part of the awareness campaign for the 87th Akhila Bharata Kannada Sahitya Sammelana to be held in Mandya from December 20 for three days.

Bantwal tahsildar Archana D Bhat, speaking on the occasion, remarked that the Ratha complements the growth of the Kannada language. Other dignitaries present included Bantwal municipal president B Vasu Poojary, Bantwal urban planning authority president Baby Kunder, Kannada Sahitya Parishat Bantwal taluk president Vishwanath Bantwal, guarantee implementation committee chairperson Jayanti R Poojary, Bantwal taluk panchayat executive officer Sachin Kumar, taluk health officer Ashok Rai, municipal chief officer Leena Britto, deputy tahsildars Naveen Benjanapadavu and Narendranath Mittur, honorary general secretary of Kannada Sahitya Parishat Ramananda Noojippadi, district executive member Poovappa Neralkatte, Panemangalore hobli president P Mohammed, office-bearers Sankappa Shetty, Ashok Shetty Sarapady, Ravindra Kukkaje, Shivashankar Kaikunje, Subhachandra Jain, Abubakkar Ammunje, Umesh Kumar V, Ummar Manchi, Rajani Chikkyamath, taluk panchayat manager Prakash, revenue inspector Janardhan J, Vijay R, taluk office staff Sitaram Kamaje, and taluk panchayat secretaries Ashok Kumar Barimar and Ramesh Mudipu.
