Ireland, Sep 10: ‘Konkans Ireland’ celebrated the Nativity of Mother Mary on Tuesday September 8 at Jerald D'Sa and family’s home at 84 Earlsfort Road Lucan county Dublin Ireland.
President of ‘Konkan's Ireland’ group, Ashok Cutinha, welcomed the crowd of nearly 60 people, before the beginning of the mass. Mass was conducted at 11.30 am by Fr Jayan, being the main celebrant and Fr Deryl being the concelebrant. After the mass, both the priests blessed all the children. The children along with the adults, showered flowers as offering to Mother Mary in typical Mangalorean style, with the hymn, ‘Moriake Hogolsian’.
After the mass, cake and cold drinks were offered to those present. In the mean time, Ashok Cutinha spoke about Konkan's Ireland group and briefed on the events passed by and on the future prayer meetings. He also laid bare his thoughts on the future plans for the Konkan's Ireland group.
Thereafter, a Bible Quiz, which was prepared by Vivian Saldanha, was conducted. After the quiz, lunch was served. The lunch was prepared by the members of the Konkan’s Ireland group. Vegetarian buffet with Mangalorean cuisine of sweet ‘Vorn’ was served for lunch. After lunch, the crowd was divided into three groups, and ‘Amtakshari’ was held between the groups. This programme was conducted by Ashok Cutinha.
At the end, secretary of Konkan's Ireland group, Ida D'Sa proposed the vote of thanks and appreciated the presence and active participation of those present.
