Udupi, Dec 13: Many Muslim associations of Udupi district staged protest at their Masjid premises here on Friday, December 13, opposing Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB).
Muslim Okkoota Udupi staged protest at the premises of Jamia Masjid here.
Moulana Rashid Ahmad Nadvi of Jamia Masjid, said, “Neither Hindu nor Muslims are happy with this bill. We will put our best efforts till the end of fight at Supreme Court. We will keep fighting until we get justice and Muslims are ready for it. Protest will be held at various places. We should get justice. We pray to God that he gives us strength and courage to fight against this bill. Let God weaken those people who are trying hard for its implementation.”
Yasin Malpe, district president Muslim Okkoota, said, “Citizenship Amendment Bill will disrupt harmony in the nation. It is creating disturbance among communities, where now people have love, trust, faith, and confidence in each other. It is a conspiracy of the RSS and Sangha Parivar to divide members of different religion. It divides citizens on the basis of religion and faith. Muslim Okkoota will fight till the withdrawal of CAB by the Union government. This is just a symbolic protest to create awareness among people. A huge protest will be held on December 15, at Martyrs memorial ground Ajjarkad.”
Muhammad Moulana, secretary, Muslim Okkoota, Yasin Sayyad, president of Jamia masjid, Salavuddin Abdulla, Rasheed Ahmad, Hussain Bengre, Khasim Barkur, Khalid, Nisar Uppinakote, secretary, Zamathe-Islami- Hind Udupi, Yasin Kodibengre of SIO, Nazeer Ambagilu, district president PFI and others were present.
Protests were also held at Jamia Masjid, Nejaru, Athrady Jumma Masjid, Gangolli Kendra Jumma masjid and Gangolli Mohiuddin Jumma masjid in kundapura, Kaup, Kombagudde and many other masjid premises.
