Mysore, Sep 8 : Leader of the opposition in the state legislative assembly, Siddaramaiah, dropped broad hints about the frustration the party has been going through because of the poor performance of the Congress Party in the recently held assembly by-election. "As far as entering into an electoral understanding in the state with the JDS is concerned, I will stand by the decision the party high command might take," he said, deviating from his earlier stand that he is totally against having any truck with the JDS.
"I will have no problem with the party high command's decision on this issue. I have observed what external affairs minister S M Krishna has said on this issue," he told the newsmen here on Sunday September 6.
Siddaramaiah asserted that the opposition will try to floor the government on the issue of various scams, at the assembly session, irrespective of whether time is set aside for their discussions or not. "The Chief Minister had earlier said that he would make room for discussion about the scandals that took place during his tenure and those of the previous state governments. To escape from discussions, he how says that the special session will discuss issues concerning agriculture and rural development," he criticized.
Siiddaramaiah said that he had suggested to the Chief Minister to convene the session for 21 days as the earlier session was of 29 days, and it should convened for 50 days. “Yeddyurappa, instead of asking the revenue and rural development ministers to concentrate on their works in view of the drought-like situation here, has taken them on a China tour. The CM is taking his family around China at the government's expense, " he charged.
