Mangalore, Sep 8: Kalkura Pratishtana will organize Sri Krishna Vesha competition, a national-level children’s festival to mark Sri Krishna Janmashtami on Friday September 11.
Addressing presspersons on Monday September 7, Kalkura Pratishtana president Pradeep Kumar Kalkura said that to promote religious awareness among children and to encourage their talent the organization has been conducting the event since two decades. The event organized on Sri Krishna Janmashtami celebration every year at Kadri Manjunatheswara Temple premises attracts lot of participation from children, who don the role Lord Sri Krishna, he said.
This year, two more sections have been added to the event namely Tunta Krishna and Geetha Krishna taking the total tally to 13 sections, he said adding that all the events will be conducted on the temple premises. Kanda Krishna, Muddukrishna, Balakrishna, Kishora Krishna, Sri Krishna, Yaksha Krishna, Radhakrishna are some of the other sections, where as Yashoda Krishna is an event where in the ladies can participate with the child, he explained.
There are also the other two events namely Shankanada and Sri Krisha quiz competition, informed Kalkura and added that the winners will bag attractive prizes, whereas all the participants will receive consolation prizes as an encouragement that will include books related to Lord Krishna.
Kalkura said that there is an expectation of more than 1,000 participants. The competition has no entry fee and spot registration facility has also also arranged. He advised parents not to dress up their kids in lavish costumes, but emphasize on showing the natural beauty of the children.
