Udupi: Steps to be taken to fill vacancies of doctors - Minister R Ashok

Udupi, Dec 9: While recruiting the personnel at the health department, it has been decided in the cabinet meeting to make arrangements to fill sufficient vacancies of doctors, said revenue minister R Ashok. 

He was speaking on Sunday, December 9, after inaugurating a new Primary Health Centre at Muniyal, which has been built a cost of Rs 1.78 crore. The programme was organised by the district administration, zilla panchayat, Udupi, district health and family welfare department, Karnataka state family welfare engineering unit. 

“The rise in pollution is a cause of several diseases. The doctors should not only treat diseases but impart awareness on precautionary measures that need to be taken to prevent diseases,” he said. 

Karkala MLA Sunil Kumar presided over the programme. 

Karkala taluk panchayat president Sowbhagya Madiwala, vice present Harish Nayak, zilla panchayat member Jyothi Harish, Prathap Hegde Maarali, taluk panchayat president Sulatha Nayak, DC G Jagadeesh, Kundapur sub-divisional officer Raju, Karkala taluk panchayat operating officer Dr Major Harsha, Karkala tahsildar Purandara Hegde, DHO Dr Sudhir Chandra Sooda and others were present. 

Taluk medical officer Dr Krishnanada welcomed the gathering. Dr Suma rendered tvote of thanks.
