Belgaum: ‘Konkani Jagrati Abhiyan–09’ on Sep 5

Belgaum, Sep 4: The Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy will organize a statewide ‘Konkani Jagrati Abhiyan – 09’ at Shahapur Daivajna Kalyan Mantap here at 4.00 pm on Saturday September 5. 
 
Bishop Fr Peter Machado of Belgaum diocese will inaugurate the programme. Local Daivajna Samaj president V V Shenoy will be the chief guest on the occasion.
 
Konkani Sahitya Academy president Kundapur Narayan Karvi will preside over the programme.
 
Daivajna Samaj former president Vishwanat Biku Shet Vernekar and Daivajna Samaj former chairperson Girijabai Anant Vernekar will be felicitated on the occasion.
 
Various Konkani cultural programmes including ‘Vovya Verse’, folklore, folkdance, Yakshagana play, one-act play, magic, and jokes, will be held on the occasion.
 
The members of Daivajna Mahila Mandal will also display colourful ‘Rangoli’.
