Udupi: Aged women frustrated by illnesses commit suicide

Udupi, Dec 4: In two unrelated incidents, two senior citizens who were fed up by health problems and mental issues ended their lives on Monday.

Devi (83) from Durga Bailoor in Badagabettu village here, who was suffering from high blood pressure and mental issues, and Lalita (79), who was suffering from diabetes, ended their lives.

Devi jumped into a well when there was no one around. Lalita hanged herself in the study room by tying a nylon rope to the window of her house. Two cases, one in the town police station here, and the other in Mankpal station, were registered.
